Eligibility
Full Description
The BLM Wyoming - Buffalo Field Office has identified a need to reduce the number of visits to greater sage grouse leks occurring as a result of conditions of approval applied to Coal Bed Natural Gas well permits. Wildlife consultants were visiting leks up to a dozen times each year, when no more than three visits were necessary. These unneeded visits were a product of uncoordinated survey efforts. The project objective is to reduce impacts to breeding greater sage grouse, a BLM sensitive species, in Wyoming's Powder River Basin by reducing unnecessary visits to leks.
