Full Description

The US Geological Survey, Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU Partner for research in the following areas: 1. Research in preparing a proto-type continuous field data (i.e. percent tree, percent barren, percent water, and percent other vegetation layers) of South America for the year 2000 and 2011 using Landsat satellite data; 2. Research in preparing continuous field data of the world for the year 2000 and 2011 using Landsat satellite data 3.

Annual update of continuous field data of the world beyond 2011 4. Annual land cover and land cover change characterization of the world from 2011 to 2016 5. Results validation using very high resolution (1-4 m) satellite data 6. Synthesis of land cover and land cover change products 7.
