Ecosystem Research Climate Change Mountain Science Environmental Funding

Full Description

The US Geological Survey, Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center (NOROCK), is offering a funding opportunity to explore how climate change and disturbance processes affect mountain landscapes. Prior focus has been on wild fire and insect outbreaks, but snow avalanches are also one of the primary ecological disturbance processes in temperate mountain ecosystems, particularly in high elevation areas. Open corridors in coniferous forest canopies is one of the many effects of snow avalanches.
