Full Description

The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a cooperative agreement to Friant Water Authority under the authority of Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) 15.555, San Joaquin River Restoration Program, Public Law 111-11, Title IX, Subtitle F (Secure Water), Section 9504 (a)(1)(C) and (D). Estimated total amount of the agreement is $9,306,747. Reclamation is providing $2,300,000 in Fiscal Year 2016. The objectives of the project are to permanently increase the pumping capacities to 200cfs at the Shafter Check Structure and 75 cfs at the Lake Woollomes and Deer Creek Check Structures for the additional benefit of accessing water banks or other water supplies available via the California Aqueduct during times of drought.
