Full Description

Pursuant to the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018 (P.L. 115-141), the Federal Railroad Administration is to make available to Amtrak $734,320,574 to cover Capital, Debt Service and American Disabilities Act (ADA) expenses of which $23,645,955 will be used for ADA expenses, at least $50,000,000 to cover expenses for the development, installation and operation of railroad safety technology, including implementation of a PTC system on State-supported routes as defined under section 24102(13) of title 49, United States Code, on which positive train control systems are not required by law or regulation and up to $5,000,000 for Surface Transportation Board (STB) related expenses until fully expended. In order to receive these funds, Amtrak must complete the grant application and submit the following items electronically: Application for Federal Assistance SF-424; SF-424B Assurances Non-Construction Programs; SF 424D Assurances Construction Programs; Statement of Work and signed copies of the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration Assurances and Certification forms (http://www.fra.dot.gov/downloads/admin/assurancesandcertifications.pdf).
