Full Description

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. This is a notice of intent to award a Cooperative Agreement between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Housatonic Valley Association, Inc. to furnish the necessary personnel, materials and services to coordinate and facilitate the restoration efforts and to accomplish the following restoration objectives: 1) construct recreational amenities along the Housatonic River in the town of Cornwall, Connecticut, 2) mange invasive species and establish native riparian species in the project area, 3) conduct post-restoration monitoring, and 4) provide public outreach.

Restoration is undertaken in accordance with the provisions of a natural resource damage settlement under which the General Electric Company paid $7,750,000 to compensate for natural resource injuries in Connecticut.
