Grants for North India: $10K Each for Impact Projects!

The Public Affairs Section of the North India Office (PAS NIO) seeks proposals for a program entitled “North India Small Grants Competition.” This program will take place in two phases. Under Phase One of this program, the grantee will organize, implement, and manage a small grants competition for organizations, institutions, and groups outside of the National Capital Region. The grantee together with PAS NIO will select up to four projects for funding of $10,000 each. Projects must take place in one or more of the following states and territories: Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Projects should demonstrate the innovative spirit of the United States and India, and must address one of the following priority areas:• Environmental Sustainability (including renewable energy)• Women’s Economic Empowerment• Entrepreneurship and Innovation• Preventing Violent Extremism• Countering Trafficking-in-PersonsProjects may include, but are not limited to, workshops, cultural programs, exhibitions, hackathons, competitions, and outreach campaigns. Project proposals should describe the project, identify a specific issue/s to be addressed by the project, the project’s objectives, and expected outcome(s). Project proposals should also demonstrate how the projects will engage audience sectors impacted by the issue/s and project sustainability. All project proposals must include a budget, implementation plan, and a U.S.

component (i.e. participation of U.S.-government exchange program alumni or a U.S. expert, either in-person or digitally). Under Phase Two of the program, the grantee will oversee funding and implementation of the selected projects to completion, working with the respective organizations, institutions, or groups that designed the projects.
