The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL, the Department, or we), announces the availability of approximately $82.5 million in grant funds authorized by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018, for ex-offender activities under Section 169 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014. Through this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), ETA seeks to enhance reentry strategies through collaboration with the field to identify and respond to emerging or chronic reentry challenges. This initiative intends to assist communities in planning and implementing comprehensive reentry programs to help formerly incarcerated adults who have been involved in the adult justice system make successful transitions back to the community.
The Department plans to award up to $4,500,000 each to approximately 7 intermediary organizations, approximately 1 proposing to serve adults. DOL also plans to award up to $1,500,000 each to approximately 34 non-intermediary organizations, approximately 20 proposing to serve adults.
