Slide Ranch will provide opportunities for socioeconomically diverse populations to participate in hands-on activities at a teaching farm within Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) with the objectives of enhancing participants’ understanding of the natural, cultural, and recreational resources available to them through their National Parks and encouraging them to address environmental challenges in their daily lives and within their communities. Slide Ranch will manage organic gardens, animals and lands and use the food, its location and its sustainable model of operation to teach participants about their inherent connection to ecosystems, the earth, and the people who farm it.
