Full Description

Purpose. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) issued by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and the Office of Research on Womens Health (ORWH) is to solicit applications to continue to support a national program of mentored institutional career development programs for junior faculty who have recently completed postgraduate clinical training in obstetrics and gynecology, and are committed to an independent research career in women's reproductive health. The supervised research training will assist junior faculty in their transition into productive, physician scientists in areas related to obstetrics and gynecology and its subspecialties. Mechanism of Support.

This FOA will utilize the NIH Mentored Clinical Scientist Development (K12) Award mechanism to provide support to an institution for development of independent clinical scientists. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The NICHD intends to commit $4,752,000 in total costs to support this program in FY 2010. It is anticipated that up to 10 awards may be made.
